What is BHRT?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) are hormones that are derived from plant estrogens. The term "bioidentical" means the hormones are chemically identical to those produced by humans.
Natural hormones are used in the treatment including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. These are the hormones that regulate many of our important body functions.
Bioidentical hormones come in various forms.
Types of BHRT
At our Medspa in Chandler, we provide bioidentical hormones in 3 forms:
Creams: The hormones are absorbed into the body through the skin.
Hormone Intramuscular injection: Hormones will be injected into your body by our experienced providers. To maintain its effect, multiple injections a month will be necessary.
Bioidentical Subcutaneous Hormone Pellets: This is a surgical procedure that requires an experienced doctor to perform. Small pellets will be placed under the skin to deliver hormones continuously in a steady stream.
Is BHRT safe?
BHRT is safe for patients if performed by a certified provider who receives continual training on proper dosage and how to keep a patient within physiologic norms. An untrained doctor may prescribe dosages that are much higher than recommended.
The hormones our Med Spa is using is 503 B compounding pharmacy, which is regulated by the FDA.
Who is the right candidate for BHRT?
