Cheek Filler Before & After

Cheek Filler isn’t always the first thing that a patient might mention to us. Sometimes patients have trouble identifying that loss of volume in their cheeks is actually what is making them look older. When volume is lost, the skin begins to sag more and lay flat over the cheekbones. This look can make one look more tired and older.

Cheek Filler before & after

There are multiple fillers that can be used in the cheek including Voluma, other Juvederm Fillers, Restylane and Sculptra. Voluma is our injectors’ number one choice for filler in the cheek. Voluma is made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance that helps to bind water to cells. Its extensive cross-linking helps to provide an excellent lifting to the cheeks and mid-face.

Sculptra is a slightly different type of cheek filler, as it contains polylactic acid. Instead of simply adding volume, Sculptra encourages the production of collagen in the body. It is injected deeper into the dermis than other fillers.

An appointment for cheek filler usually takes around fifty minutes from start to finish. Our injectors are thorough in examining the loss of volume prior to injecting, and also make sure to fully understand the needs of the patient. You can go to work or attend any other event after your treatment. Depending on which filler is used in your treatment, some fillers actually have a numbing agent already mixed into the Filler itself.

It is possible to have small side effects such as minor swelling or bruising in the injected area, as well as tenderness, but it usually goes away in a few days. It will take a day or two to see your final results, but you will also be able to see some results immediately. Cheek fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years before the results are no longer noticeable. The material from the filler eventually dissolves and metabolizes into your skin tissue.
